Founder and CEO, Characterline; Advisor to Korea Culture & Tourism Research Institute and KOCCA (Seoul)

Mr Si-Bum Kim is widely recognized as one of Korea’s leading experts in the commercialization of entertainment and intellectual properties.  His company, Characterline, is one of Asia’s leading marketing and IP management agents for characters, cartoon, animation, publishing and music properties, across merchandising, print, the internet, mobile, television, film and computer games.

Characterline Inc. also develops its own characters and entertainment properties, including the internationally successful ‘Varim – the Wish Cat’.  Varim is a multi platform property successfully commercialized across virtual worlds, games, publishing, merchandise, television, mobile, and theme parks.

Mr Kim is an Advisor for the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA); an Advisor to the Korea Culture & Tourism Research Institute (KCTI); an Advisor to KOCCA Export Consulting;  a Director of the Human Contents Academy; and an Adjunct Professor to Hanyang University.

Mr Kim holds a BBA from Yonsei University, Seoul, and an MBA from Hofstra University Business School (New York).
